0.7.14: the Eternal picks his inheritance
The Eternal picks his inheritance in a papercraft void, a new Stacker minigame, a hatchling pick for the Mysterious Egg, and nearly every unit drawn again.
PB& Games · A one-person studio · Founded 2026
Summon a cardboard army. Draft outlandish card packs, drop squads, spells and siege engines straight onto a living battlefield, then slam End Turn and watch the clash resolve. Solo, or online co-op for up to 4 warlords.
Coming to Steam Early Access, November 2026. Windows, macOS and Linux.
The game
Cardboard Conquest is a roguelite deckbuilder that resolves like a battle instead of a duel. Each card you drop becomes a squad of soldiers, a spell, a trap or a siege engine, exactly where you placed it. Wall a chokepoint. Screen your archers. Flank the line. Then commit, and the whole field moves at once.
Every run opens with a draft: armored legions, spider broods, walking bombs, con artists, love sorcery, splitting slimes. Three themed packs become your entire card pool, and even your commander is assembled from what you picked. No two runs build alike.
What is in the box
Counted straight out of the build, not off a press release. The fact sheet shows the rest.
From the devlog
The Eternal picks his inheritance in a papercraft void, a new Stacker minigame, a hatchling pick for the Mysterious Egg, and nearly every unit drawn again.
Every warlord's starter units drawn again by hand in flat paper, standees at full height, flat-paper stages, a brighter battlefield and new wagers.
Every unit, commander and spell icon reprinted in flat paper, screens that crumple, pleat and burn, and bosses that burn the box and dim the lights.
The studio
Paul Booth. Founded in 2026, no office, no roadmap deck. The name is a sandwich joke. Paul Booth &, and whatever the studio makes next goes in the blank. The logo has a bite taken out of it every time the game boots.
Design, code, balance, audio pipeline, store pages and this website: one pair of hands, built in Godot, shipped in public with playtesters reading over its shoulder.
